"In 2023, House Democrats fought to put people over politics and meet the urgent needs of working people. But instead of doing their jobs, House Republicans spent the year dragging our economy to the brink with a devastating default on our debt and two government shutdowns. They even paralyzed Congress for nearly a month after ousting their own Speaker.
"The American people deserve a Congress that works for them. In 2024, my Democratic colleagues and I will continue to extend the hand of partnership to Republicans so we can serve the people we are privileged to represent. I’ll always reject MAGA extremism, but will keep fighting to find common ground on behalf of people in need.
